Critical Role Season Four Reveals the Warriors Table

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces expanding in influence within the urban setting.

Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.

The Warrior Group Unveiled

Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and presented the first table of characters who will branch out from the main group to embark on their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).

The Reason for Division

Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.

Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.

Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.

Why They Must Go

First, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his own means, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.

The antagonist then cleared his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Individual Reasons

Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:

  • The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, desires revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty location.
  • The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
  • Yet, their status as important members in the influential clan could help the team enter areas they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
  • Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
  • The target is targeted for elimination by House Halovar.

This results in them no alternative but to journey toward the remote area in search of Casimir.

Future Episodes

From the recent installment’s follow-up content, we learn that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Seekers and Schemers parties.

Audiences can look forward to learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
