I'll dominate 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice world title holder Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually happening.
